Enjoy complimentary appetizers, a no-host bar, and a special screening of some early videos of the Oasis of Murals project and the actual Victory Parade in 1991. Join us in our campaign to restore this historic mural to its former glory! Originally painted in 1995 by artist Chuck Caplinger, the mural honors the historic Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm homecoming and the Victory Parade held in 1991 for our returning troops to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms. The mural will be repainted in 2020 by Caplinger and a team of assistants. Restoration plans will be presented at the fundraising event. (See our Sponsorship page.)
